国际生｜从国家队到校园：纪晴的“平凡”之乐

Kee Cheng, a Malaysian student who graduated from the School of Data Science used to be a national player for floorball.

毕业于香港中文大学（深圳）数据科学学院的马来西亚学生纪晴，曾是一名旱地冰球国家队球员。

Cheng took to sports at an early age. She was born in a family with a sports enthusiast father. He loves playing various sports and used to take her little girl to try them. When she was 13, a floorball national player came as a teacher to her high school and established a floorball team. Cheng was inspired. She tried the sport and fell in love with it.

纪晴从小就对运动展现出浓厚的兴趣。她出生在一个热爱体育的家庭，父亲是个运动爱好者，喜欢尝试各种运动项目，也常常带着年幼的女儿一起体验。13岁那年，一位旱地冰球国手来到她的高中担任老师，并组建了校旱地冰球队。纪晴深受鼓舞，尝试了这项运动后便深深爱上了它。

Cheng began her athletic journey by joining the school team and just one year later, her talent was discovered, and she was recruited into the state floorball team. “If you go training, you will get results,” says Cheng, who trained hard and performed well. At the age of 17, she became a member of the Malaysian floorball national team to play for her country.

纪晴的体育之路从加入校队开始。仅一年时间，她的天赋就被发现，并被选入州旱地冰球队。“只要坚持训练，就一定会有收获，”刻苦训练且表现优异的她说道。17岁时，她正式成为马来西亚旱地冰球国家队员，代表国家出战。

Cheng dreamt of representing her country in international competitions, however, COVID-19 hit the world suddenly and there were no competitions for her to play in. Cheng was very sad. She took a gap year to cope with the situation.

纪晴曾梦想代表马来西亚参加国际比赛，然而新冠疫情突然席卷全球，赛事纷纷取消，无赛可打。她为此感到非常失落，为了应对这一困境，她选择休学一年。

“At first, I felt a lot of pity because I couldn’t join competitions. But now I think it's fine," says Cheng.

“起初，我因为无法参加比赛而感到非常遗憾。但现在我觉得这样也挺好的，”纪晴说道。

One important factor for Cheng to chose CUHK-Shenzhen is because English is the primary language of teaching. In addition, she was awarded a full scholarship for her excellent academic performance.

对纪晴来说，选择香港中文大学（深圳）的一个重要原因是大学以英语为主要教学语言。另外，凭借优异的学业成绩，她还获得了全额奖学金。

She declared Data Science and Big Data Technology as her major, because she thinks data science is a growing industry with a lot of potential and there will be greater demand for graduates of this field in the future job market.

她选择了数据科学与大数据技术专业，因为她认为数据科学是一个充满潜力的成长型行业，未来，就业市场对这方面人才的需求会越来越大。

Cheng likes her campus life very much. She joined the International Students’ Association (ISA) and was elected as the Activity Department Chair in Year 3. She helped hold various interesting activities and describes her year as “busy but memorable”.

纪晴非常享受校园生活。她加入了国际学生协会（ISA），大三时还当选为活动部部长。她协助组织了各种有趣的活动，“忙碌但难忘”是她对这一年生活的描述。

She thinks little “normal” things are enjoyable, such as going out for supper with friends, but the next day they have to continue to go to classes… “I enjoyed the normal university life a lot, especially when there is no stress about the coming exams,” she says.

纪晴觉得一些看似平凡的“日常”小事其实很美好。比如，和朋友一起出去吃宵夜，尽管第二天还得继续上课……“我非常享受这种普通的大学生活，尤其是在没有考试压力的时候，”她说。

Cheng also likes Shenzhen. She thinks the city is very modern and clean, and it has lots of beautiful parks, which she loves to visit frequently.

纪晴也很喜欢深圳。她认为这座城市非常现代化且干净整洁，拥有许多美丽的公园，她也经常喜欢去这些公园游玩。

Cheng now treats floorball as a hobby. She has tried more sports such as badminton and soccer, which helped her make many friends. “At CUHK-Shenzhen, I don't treat sports as competitive games. I have fun and enjoy them more.”

如今，纪晴将旱地冰球视为一种爱好。她还尝试了羽毛球、足球等更多运动项目，这也让她结识了许多朋友。“在香港中文大学（深圳），我不再把运动看作竞技比赛，我更享受其中的乐趣，也更加喜欢它们了。”她说。
